Double Celebration

Missing Parsons are celebrating two things!

The band are thrilled to tell you that their first album, snappily entitled Missing Parsons, is now available on iTunes and at all good digital retailers from November 8th. We politely invite you to purchase here!

The writing duo (Chris & Joe) are just as thrilled to have finished writing Live Fast, Die Young: Misadventures in Rock & Roll America, which is published by Summersdale next May! We hope to keep you occupied until then, meanwhile enjoy a glass of wine with us, why don’t you?

Finito!

Finito!

My Pretty Fraulein

Missing Parsons (the band, not the writers – gosh this is confusing isn’t it?) proudly present new song My Pretty Fraulein, their own interpretation of the classic tune by Lawton Williams. Previously recorded by Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis and Evan Dando among others, Missing Parsons have given it their own unique flavour! Hope you enjoy it – stay tuned for exciting news about the Missing Parsons album very soon …

And there’s more music over at the Missing Parsons Facebook page.

Jetlag has its benefits

Missing Parsons JTIFor almost the first week of the trip, Chris woke up at five thirty on the dot and found himself faced with a choice of listening to Joe snore or getting up and blogging or taking photos. This one was taken as the sun rose over the pool at the Joshua Tree Inn. It’s going to grace the cover of the Missing Parsons album (more details soon).

The cover art is here!

And we love it!

We’re still a long way from publication (we’re still a long way from finishing writing the damn thing), but when Live Fast, Die Young hits the shelves next May, here’s what to look for:

Live Fast, Die Young: Misadventures in Rock & Roll America

Pretty cool, huh?

Misadventures in Monument Valley

We’ve made it as far as Monument Valley. Hope you enjoy this video, which features more musical contributions from Parson Simon Kilshaw*. Chris misses the Monument Valley sunrise and Joe tells us a thing or two about films and stuff.

*Simon is known to have links to Missing Parsons the band; everything else about them remains a closely guarded secret, though members of team Parsons on Facebook are believed to have access to further information.

Live Fast, Die Young – Theme from Missing Parsons

Exciting news – we have our own theme tune! Live Fast, Die Young – Theme from Missing Parsons has been submitted by talented Parson Simon Kilshaw via Facebook. It is truly a thing of wonder, capturing as it does Chris and Joe’s respective fondness for country rock and French electro. And if you think that those two things are uncomfortable bed fellows, have a listen and we think you’ll be surprised!

The sound quality isn’t great, but please bear with us while we work on less clunky ways of bringing you Missing Parsons music!

Missing Parsons Intro Reel

On our first day in LA we made a short video with Terra Naomi. If nothing else it’ll give you an idea of what the trip was intended to be. It turned out rather differently, as you’ll discover in the book – Live Fast, Die Young, Misadventures in Rock & Roll America.
