So the first batch of Missing Parsons shirts were mailed out to addresses in the US today – hurrah! We hope you’ll be proud to wear them. Please remember that we’re giving these shirts away in exchange for your help in sharing our content on Facebook, Twitter, your own blogs etc (see this earlier post for more info). We’re pretty trusting types on the whole, but we’ve commissioned The Lonely Island to come up with this video, which explains what will happen to anyone who doesn’t keep up their side of the bargain.

As promised, we have looked into the cost of shipping to addresses outside the US, and here’s what we found. We had requests from the UK, France and Australia, which conveniently all cost $9.60, plus $1.39 for packing. Add a cent for the shirts (PayPal won’t let us sell for zero dollars), and that makes exactly $11.00. At today’s exchange rates that’s:

GBP – 6.89 / Aus. D – 10.20 / Euros – 7.66

… or some such nonsense is what they usually say when they open a new mall. You go along expecting to be handed a Segway at the entrance or something similarly ‘fresh!’, only to find that it’s just shops like all the others.

Not so with the newly opened Missing Parsons shop! There ARE no shops. Okay there are no Segways either, and it’s really just online retail, but we’d love you to pop in and browse ALL THREE of our products.

That’s right. No more must you find yourself confused and immobile in the aisles, incapacitated by the bewildering array of options when all you want is to sweeten your coffee. In the Missing Parsons shop it’s just T-SHIRT, BOOK, CD. That’s it. What could be simpler?

Put another way, we’ve made some excellent loot available in the US especially for our esteemed American friends. (Specifically it’s about making the book available at an affordable price in the US – if you’re shopping from the UK it’s still cheaper to buy from Amazon.) We would love for you to stop in and have a browse. We use Paypal to process your transactions – it’s completely secure and trusted by squillions around the world to buy stuff online.

Missing Parsons

It seemed rude not to. With our *debut* live performance coming up at the Gram Parsons Guitar Pull (Okefenokenee Fairgrounds, Waycross, Georgia, USA, Saturday 18th September, 2.30pm), we figured it was about time Missing Parsons had some T-shirts out there. They don’t exist in real life yet (update: they do now), but we’re too excited not to share these designs with you now. We may even do bumper stickers if they go down well.

Some huge thank you’s are due. The first and most important goes to the always incomparable Courtney ‘Annie Rich’ Connor (whom readers of Live Fast, Die Young have met) for making the gig happen in the first place. That there Ms. Rich is an amazing lady and we’d be nowhere without her. The second thank you goes to our stylist, web designer and friend Thomas Eagle for the wonderful shirt designs.
